‘The Building of Banff – 800 years’ 19th March

tells of the development of Banff over the centuries from a small Royal Burgh to a large and busy Victorian fishing port.He will be talking about the growth of the town and the architecture.

The fee for all five talks is £9.00 with a payment of £3.00 for any individual talk. Tea is served and meetings end at 3.30pm.

The Annual General Meeting is on Tuesday 19th March following the talk.

New Members always welcome – for all 5 talks or only one.

 Transport is available in Banff and Macduff for a small charge. Ample parking within grounds. For further details phone Mrs Isobel Watt on 01261 861404.

Salmon Fishing Starts at Portsoy’ 19th February

tells of the mysterious image of the salmon and how, against all odds, Portsoy came to be an important centre of the commercial salmon fishing industry.

which also  includes Community Boatbuilding in Portsoy. Kids Boatbuilding is now part of the school curriculum for all 8 feeder schools for Banff Academy.

Christmas is getting closer so dont miss the pre Christmas entertainment at the castle before the festivities start!

Our Film of the week is Brave!! (PG)

On Friday 7th December at 7.30pm and Saturday 8th December at 2.30pm we are showing the incredible animation movie Brave. Come along and see if you can spot some familiar Scottish scenery!!

This will be the last cinema showing for this year - we return on 18th January 2013
